conscious change

hello
My name is Debra Neisler (MSW, LCSW), and I own The Center for Conscious Change. I’ve been a therapist for almost 20 years, working with a broad range of clients, including adults, children, families, and the military community. Now I specialize in working with adult women at transitional points in their lives, including peri- and post menopause. I excel at building rapport to help you feel comfortable as you start your journey toward healing. You can feel confident that our work together will improve your quality of life!

I am also a Certified Health and Wellness Coach, which I accomplished through training at Duke Integrative Health and Wellness (Durham, NC). As a therapist, I have come to recognize how much pressure women feel to "do it all" and place a lot of pressure on themselves to please others. Although "self-care" may seem to be the buzzword of the decade, it's the most important facet of your being able to bring balance to your life! My coach training has given me the insight and strategies to help you set and achieve your lifestyle change goals!

I'm a mother and grandmother, I've been married and divorced, I successfully tackled menopause, which resulted in me returning to school for my MSW and becoming a therapist. I also had the opportunity to travel the world as a Military Family Life Counselor, which more than satisfied my dreams of living abroad. I've lived in six countries and have visited about twenty of them! It was a dream come true!

I have a front row seat to the challenges of aging and have come to believe that if you live long enough, everything will come to fruitiont. Prioritizing your health and well being is a key factor in living life with purpose. You deserve to thrive, not just survive!

health coaching + psychotherapy
I've personally struggled with maintaining a healthy lifestyle as I've gotten older, so I understand the challenges that others face. As a health coach, my goal is to help women achieve their best selves by finding balance in their lives. By prioritizing your own health and wellness, you can become a happier, more resilient person who can handle whatever life throws your way.

If you suffer with stage of life issues, i.e., post partem, perimenopausal, medical issues , move to a new job or city, and you are finding yourself having a difficult time getting back on track, I’m here to help you figure out where you would like to start and to support you on your journey!

If you're struggling with mental health issues like anxiety or depression that affect your ability to take control of your life, I'm here to help. As a licensed clinical social worker with 20 years of experience, I specialize in helping women overcome challenges at any stage of life. My areas of expertise include treating depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, grief and loss, and other life stressors. I earned my MSW from the University of North Carolina School of Social Work and have mastered several evidence-based therapies. With my guidance, you can trust that you'll receive the support and care you need to overcome life's obstacles. Throughout my career, I've focused on building strong therapeutic relationships with my clients, which is fundamental to understanding and healing. My clients have responded well to my approach, seeing me as empathic, insightful and intuitive. I have a broad understanding of many of the life stage issues you may be experiencing and I have significant knowledge of psychological theory.
