conscious change

hello
My name is Debra Neisler, MSW, LCSW, and I am the founder of The Center for Conscious Change. I bring nearly 20 years of experience as a therapist, having worked with a wide range of individuals and communities, including adults, children, families, and the military population.
Today, my work is focused on adult women navigating life transitions, particularly those related to midlife, identity shifts, and peri- and post-menopause. I am known for creating a supportive, grounded therapeutic space where clients feel comfortable exploring change at their own pace. Building trust and rapport is central to my work, especially during periods of transition.
In addition to my clinical training, I am a Certified Health and Wellness Coach, having completed my training through Duke Integrative Health and Wellness in Durham, North Carolina. Through this work, I’ve seen how much pressure women place on themselves to manage responsibilities and meet expectations, often at the expense of their own well-being. I view self-care not as a trend, but as a foundational practice for restoring balance, clarity, and sustainability.
My personal experiences have also shaped my work. I am a mother and grandmother, have experienced marriage and divorce, and have navigated menopause myself—an experience that ultimately led me back to graduate school and into the field of social work. I also spent several years as a Military Family Life Counselor, living and working abroad. I have lived in six countries and traveled to many others, experiences that broadened my perspective and deepened my understanding of change and resilience.
With both personal and professional insight into aging and transition, I believe that prioritizing health and well-being allows us to live with greater intention and meaning. You deserve more than simply getting through life—you deserve the opportunity to thrive.
