conscious change
therapy
If you're struggling with mental health issues like anxiety or depression that affect your ability to take control of your life, I'm here to help. As a licensed clinical social worker with 20 years of experience, I specialize in helping women overcome challenges at any stage of life, with an emphasis on peri- and post menopause. My areas of expertise include treating depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship issues, grief and loss, and other life stressors. I earned my MSW from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and have mastered several evidence-based therapies, including EMDR. With my guidance, you can trust that you'll receive the support and care you need to overcome life's obstacles. Throughout my career, I've focused on building strong therapeutic relationships with my clients, which is fundamental to healing. My clients have responded well to my approach, seeing me as empathetic, insightful, and intuitive. I have a broad understanding of many of the life stage issues you may be experiencing, and I have significant knowledge of psychological theory. I absolutely love the work I do with clients and am grateful for the opportunity to help women at this very important level.

meditation, yoga and mindful awareness
Busy women need a place of respite to disengage from the constant attention to the thoughts and demands of daily life.
I have personally used meditation, mindfulness and yoga to help balance my life and bring clarity to my awareness. I found meditation helpful to reduce stress and clear my thinking, with mindfulness the constant reminder that I am present here and now. I continue my own yoga practice daily to release tension in my mind and body, allowing me to start my day from a place of centeredness and calm. I highly recommend these methods as a starting point for your own self discovery to help you transition from hectic and unpredictable to a life centered around intention and purpose. It takes only minutes a day to embark upon this journey of knowing and prioritizing your self.

Achieving a state of mindfulness is simply a matter of changing your perspective, similar to how we see two different images in an optical illusion. To be mindful, you need to shift your attention to your senses: sight, sound, smell, touch, and taste. It's important to recognize when you're not being mindful, but once you're aware of it, you can easily shift back to a mindful state, just like you did when you saw the cup/two faces image.
